The Kitchen StudioWarranty and
maintenance

Stage 1

Take the call

Open the job first. Then check the account and the warranty before you book anyone.

1

Write down the problem

Write down the client's name, phone, email and address. Add the original job number, the consultant, the date and the room or cupboard. Ask when it started and whether it was fixed before. Ask for photos, and a short video if something will not open or close.

2

Look for danger

Act straight away if a cupboard is loose or could fall, or if water is still leaking. Tell the client not to use it, and get the right person to help, such as a plumber. Do not wait for old records.

Check withFind out
AccountsIs the account paid up? Get it in writing. If not, how much is owing? Note who told you and when.
Job records and consultantWhen was it installed and finished? Was it signed off? Were there problems or repairs before?
Warranty papersWhat does it cover? When did it start and how long is it? Are there any limits?
3

Pick the kind of job

Choose one: warranty job, paid maintenance job, or not sure yet. Missing papers do not mean it is covered or not covered. Write it down as a question.

4

Reply to the client

Give the client their job number. Tell them what you are checking and when you will call back. Do not promise a repair date yet.
